Great Women Painters continues Phaidon’s The Art Book series and champions a diverse narrative that incorporates both established and emerging artists, including many who worked despite challenges based on their gender.
The volume is introduced with an essay by curator and writer Alison M. Gingeras and features a profile of each artist written by one of a cadre of expert contributors as well as full-color illustrations of the artists’ works.
