Richard Artschwager: The Hydraulic Door Check Deluxe Edition

This limited-edition exhibition catalogue is one of five hundred deluxe copies published on the occasion of Richard Artschwager: The Hydraulic Door Check, a retrospective of the artist’s work at Museum für angewandte Kunst, Vienna, in 2002. Signed by the artist and numbered, the book is bound in rubberized horsehair—one of Artschwager’s favored mediums—and is housed in the publisher’s original paperboard box. In addition to substantive visual and archival documentation of the exhibited works, the bilingual (English/German) volume features an introduction by Peter Noever, who edited the catalogue; reflections by the artist; and essays by Jörg Heiser, Anthony Vidler, and John Yau.
