Takashi Murakami and Virgil Abloh: future history T-shirt

This limited-edition T-shirt was created by Takashi Murakami and Virgil Abloh on the occasion of Murakami & Abloh: future history at Gagosian, Davies Street, London, an exhibition of collaborative works that coincided with London Fashion Week 2018. Working together in Murakami’s Tokyo studio, the creative duo brought their individual styles and trademarks together in a succession of freewheeling mash-ups that reflect a contemporary milieu. In each individually numbered shirt, the signature crossed arrows of Abloh’s label Off-White intersect with Murakami’s familiar Mr. DOB character. The result, which represents the merging of art, design, and fashion, deconstructs and subverts the creative process itself.
